Academic questions -1 For each 6 ects subject at Comillas, students should normally expect to spend between hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design. Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, or other methods as outlined in specific subject guidelines. An exchange student should have between 24 and 30 ECTS depending on THE HOME UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS!

CLASS ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY. If you don´t go to class and don´t give good reason for not going to the teacher, they will not let you take the exam and you could receive a mark called NOT ATTENDED. Class selection All students can pick anual and semestral classes.. If you are a student coming only for a semester, you can take annual classes, but you will only receive half of the total year credits available. If you are an annual student and you choose an annual course, you can not stop studying it in the second semester, you must complete the course. Students who come from English speaking Universities will have preference when it comes to classes taught in English.

Si eres alumno que viene por un cuatrimestre te podrás matricular en asignaturas anuales, pero solamente recibirás la mitad de los créditos de la asignatura anual. Si eres un alumno anual y te matriculas en una asignatura anual tendrás esta asignatura durante todo el curso, no te la podrás quitar en el segundo cuatrimestre. Las asignaturas en inglés tienen preferencia los alumnos que vienen de Universidades Angloparlantes.

Academic Calendar First semester classes start on September 2st and they finish on the 22nd December (including the exam period). The exam period is from the 7th December until the 22nd December. IT IS THE STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY TO STAY FOR THE WHOLE DURATION OF THEIR EXCHAGE. WE WILL NOT CHANGE THE DATES OF EXAMS UNLESS THE STUDENT HAS TWO ON THE SAME DAY AND AT THE SAME TIME.

Confirming course selection During the first two weeks of classes, students have the opportunity to attend classes they wish to take before making a definitive choice. Students can drop and pick-up classes according to what suits them best. You will be able to make changes up until the 15th September. After definitively confirming the classes you which to take, we will not allow changes of any kind. You will have to go to see Patricia with your timetable, the selection of courses done in the application and don’t forget to upload your medical insurance

Selección de cursos definitiva Durante las dos primeras semanas de clase el alumno tiene la oportunidad de asistir a todas las clases que quiera para hacer la selección definitiva de asignaturas que mejor se adapte a sus necesidades. Podrá hacer cambios hasta el día 15 de septiembre. Después de esta fecha se cerrará el periodo para añadir o quitar asignaturas y se deberá entregar la matrícula definitiva no se admiten cambios de ningún tipo. Tendrás que ir a ver a Patricia con tu horario, la selección de cursos hecha en la aplicación y no olvides de subir tu seguro médico.

The classes take place in the afternoon – consult the time in the third year foreign language page and there will be various levels. These classes are worth 6 ECTS credits. During the first week we will assess the student´s level so that they will take the correct class for their language level.
