Sexism fails to recognize both the equality of being between men and women and the intrinsic value of what makes a woman a woman. This is often a result of one of two things An uncritical examination of ones own culture in light of Scripture. Or to put it differently “being conformed to this world.” This often is a result of socialization into a sexist society. Sexism may be “tempered” by the Scriptures to male dominance of Chauvinism. A conscious desire to stand against the denigration of female and the crushing of women found in ones own culture, in our case, a sexist society and embracing it’s opposite, feminism, as being true. Here feminism is “tempered” by Scripture to the egalitarianism of evangelical feminism.
