Existen 2 tipos de usuarios en cualquier organización Aquellos que diseñas y crean una solución –Responsable de crear y mantener un sistema donde los usuarios pueden compartir conocimiento para alcanzar el exito Aquellos que usa las soluciones –Crean y comparten contenidos para poder mejorar la toma de decisiones –Interactuar con la información vía todos los dispositivos no importan donde estén –No existen limiten en el uso

This license is needed for those customers with users that need to receive personalized reports generated in an automated fashion by Cognos BI, and access those reports via a mechanism outside either Cognos Connection portal, Cognos Workspace dashboards or outside Cognos Office (e.g. by ). The Remote Recipient role is typically sold using a PVU licensing approach where Cognos BI is being used as a high volume automated report production engine. Users are not interacting with Cognos BI in any way as it is a “push” type of license.  It is not necessary to purchase a Remote Recipient license if a licensed BI Consumer or higher level user wants to a generic (non-personalized) report saved to a standard format such as Adobe pdf to a list of one or more users. The Remote Recipient license is only required when Cognos BI is creating personalized reports – for example bank statements; pay and benefit reports; etc. – for a number of individuals, and those individuals do not have Cognos Connection rights to access and view the reports as authenticated users in the Cognos BI environment. This license provide the rights to generate, distribute or consume “Active Report” content also.

TM1 para Cognos BI  IBM Cognos Analytic Server para Business Intelligence en este nuevo release (10.2.1)  Incluye Cognos Insight para hacer ad-hoc analysis y poder compartir con otros  Muy económico: $50 per PVU USD para un server con un máximo de 560 PVUs (hasta 8 cores intel)  Usuarios BI Users and BI Architect pueden usar Cognos Insight para crear y publicar modelos  BI Architect pueden usar Performance Modeler para administrar seguridad y contenidos de TM1 Los precios son referenciales y cambian país a país

Licenciamiento para Dynamic Cube Dynamic Cubes are part of our platform so we don't need to license anything in order to get them. My doubt is if we license by PVU, let say the BI Users (in the new license mode), can I have a bigger server just to process dynamic cubes or are them constrained by the acquired user's PVUs?  If your customer is planning to purchase the new roles - BI Architect and BI User, then the BI Architect role is the one that has rights to Dynamic Cubes and that role is only available on the Authorized User metric. So if the customer is planning to have a separate server for Dynamic Cubes, then they can do that without any additional licensing requirement, as the BI Architect Authorized User license provides reasonable server rights.

Scenario 1 – Typical deployment for new BI customer  Prospect wants to deploy BI to enable more effective decision making across the organization with a centralized IT – 209 end users – 20 analysts – 25 report authors – 3 data modelers / IT resources to install / configure / manage  Licenses required – 254 BI User – 3 BI Architect (for data modelers and IT)  List price for deal in USD is ($1600 * 254 ) + ($14,700 * 3) = $447K

Scenario 1b – Typical deployment for new BI customer new BI installation of an existing customer  Same scenario as previously however it is for a new department or subsidiary of an existing Cognos BI customer  Licenses required – 254 BI User – 3 BI Architect (for data modelers and IT)  List price for deal in USD is ($1600 * 254 ) + ($14,700 * 3) = $447K  You MUST share the caveat that these users should be segmented from the rest of the population so as to maintain conformance – Ensure they are not able to access Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Metrics Studio – Do not deploy Transformer to Architects – There are no add-ons to provide access to these studios should they need to work with people in other departments

Scenario 2 – Existing customer wants to increase functionality  As part of an upgrade from existing customer wants to benefit from new capabilities such as Mobile, Cognos Workspace and Cognos Insight  Has heard that there is license simplification and would like to move to new license model  Customer already had significant investment in BI licenses – 461 mix of Business Analysts & Business Authors – 1366 Consumers – Also wants to purchase 3 new Report Studio Users  Licenses required – 461 Advanced Business Authors Authorized User Trade-up – 1366 Enhanced Consumers Authorized User Trade-Up – 3 BI Professionals  List price for deal in USD is ($536 * 461) + ($410 * 1366) + ($ 3540 * 3)= $818k – BI User is not an option as it will lead to compliance issues and an inability to support their end users as they will not be able to access Query or Analysis Studio

Scenario 3 – Existing customer wants to simplify licenses  Existing customer has had many compliance issues in the past  Has heard that there is license simplification and would like to move to new license model  700 Users –550 Enhanced Consumers –100 Advanced Business Authors –45 BI Professional –5 Administrators  Licenses required –700 BI Advanced from Tier 1 Trade Up  List price for deal in USD is ($1600 * 700)= $1.1M –No option to trade up exists to BI User or BI Architect

Scenario 4 – Competing against Qlik with TM1 for BI  Competing with Qlik, data and business discovery has been a major part of the discussion  Marketing is looking for a solution for the Market Insights team in order to evaluate profitability of new markets and demographics –60 analysts  Customer has a shared server that the group uses and has excess capacity –CTPs have identified it as having 240 PVUs  Licenses required –58 BI User –2 BI Architect (prospect is has identified two power users who will do administration) –240 PVUs of IBM Cognos Analytics Server for BI  List price for deal in USD is ($1600 * 58) + (2 * $14,700) + ($50 * 431) = $146,000

Scenario 5 – Production Reporting  Prospect wants to send active reports out to their customers and partners at the end of each month –No expectation that those people will come back to Cognos Software to receive content  Customer Operations has –team of 25 people who will be developing reports –IT team of 3 that will model, configure and manage infrastructure  CTPs have provided sizing based on peek production requirements of a 560 PVU server being needed to generate all of the reports in the require timeframe  Licenses required –25 BI User –3 BI Architect (for data modelers and IT) –560 PVUs of Remote Recipient  List price for deal in USD is ($1600 * 25) + (3 * $14,700) + (560 * $431) = $330,000

Preguntas Frecuentas ¿Podemos combinar BI Enhanced Consumers con BI Users y BI Architect? No es posible debido a que son licenciamientos distintos. Preguntas Frecuentas Transformer y Metrics Studio no se incluye en el nuevo licenciamiento: – ¿Que ofrecemos si el cliente necesita generar indicadores de desempeño, scorecards o un Balanced Scorecard? – ¿Ya no van a soportarse en el futuro? – ¿Van a tener mejoras o van a ser reemplazados por otros productos? – ¿Que pasa con los clientes que siguen usando Transformer y/o Metrics Studio? Estos productos no están incluidos en el licenciamiento nuevo. Si un cliente quiere utilizarlos deberemos ofrecer la modalidad de licenciamiento anterior Transformer – en lugar de transformer se ofrece Dynamic Cubes o bien se puede licenciar el Analytic Server de TM1 (a un precio referencial US de U$S50 x PVU – 560 PVUs maximo) Metric Studio – La funcionalidad asociada a Metric Studio estará disponible en TM1 (10.2). Aun no se cuenta con dicha funcionalidad

Preguntas Frecuentes ¿Están incluidos DB2 y Websphere dentro de las licencias de Cognos para uso de la aplicación (Content Store, Metric Store, Application Server)? Si, están incluidos pero a su vez restringidos para el uso de la aplicación Cognos BI. Es decir DB2 para el content store y bases de datos asociadas a la plataforma y WAS para correr Cognos. Más información en Mi inquietud va mas del lado de TM y su solución e Scorecard. Cómo quedan los clientes que tienen sólo BI y han cómpralo roles que incluyen Metrics Studio? Qué licenciamiento debo ofrecer a mi cliente, donde estamos vendiendo un proyecto de scorecard, BI + TM1? El rol de Business Manager se elimina? Hay que hacer un trade up? Si el licenciamiento nuevo no se ajusta a esta necesidad de negocio y además aun no sale TM y las nuevas políticas sobre los módulos de scorecarding entonces deberá mantener el licenciamiento anterior.
