ECOLOGICAL EDUCATION CONTEST Consejería de Educación, Cultura y Deportes CEIP. “Miguel de Cervantes” Consuegra (Toledo) SPAIN

Motto: “We need to stand up for the future we deserve” (Earth Day 2014)

Rationale We need to change how our cities operate to make our cities greener and accelerate the world’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future. We cannot afford to continue polluting our atmosphere and wasting our resources. With your help, we will call upon cities to invest in clean energy and smart grids, we will overhaul outdated building codes and place a higher emphasis on building efficiency.

Purposes To raise awareness of environmental benefits, including less industrial contamination, and community recycling programs. To communicate the problems each country has in order to maintain a clean world. To promote the use of renewable energies, principally through the promotion of the school council. To develop awareness and respect towards ecology and renewable energies.

Aims & Objectives To develop research skills by observing the effects of human action on the environment. To engage students in learning about the environmental benefits of renewable energy. To foster critical and creative thinking. To stimulate artistic skills of the students. To develop skills in order to achieve artistic products with environmental message.

OUR STUDENTS MADE SOME POSTERS REPRESENTING THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES.

First of all, 5th and 6th graders did a research work on different types of renewable energy. They worked in groups of 3 or 4 students. Then they decided how to design the posters. They used some different materials to make them.

Our students working on posters for Ecological Education Contest in groups
