Oil Based Energies 99.6% of the power in the islands are oil-based energies. Only 0.4% of the energy comes from renewable resources. I.E.S. Nueva Isleta “Tony Gallardo”

How We Use the Energy Half of the energy goes into the transportation

Renewable Resources in Gran Canaria I.E.S. Nueva Isleta “Tony Gallardo” In the Canary Islands there are a plethora of resources, but the ones that could harvest a lot energy are the solar and wind energies.

Solar Energy The solar energy could provide us with way more power than what we’re harnessing. I.E.S. Nueva Isleta “Tony Gallardo”

Wind Energy The wind energy is the main renewable energy resource in most of the Canary area. I.E.S. Nueva Isleta “Tony Gallardo”

Wind Energy But you can’t find wind turbines everywhere in the islands, they’re mostly located in the east and west of the island. I.E.S. Nueva Isleta “Tony Gallardo”

FUEL POWER STATION In Gran Canaria there are two fuel power plants. The first one is placed in Jinamar. The second one is in the south of the Island.(Juan Grande) I.E.S. Nueva Isleta “Tony Gallardo”
