Juego: “Tingo, tingo, tango….” The ball is like the “hot potato.” Students pass/throw the ball around while teacher (eyes covered) chants, “Tingo, tingo, tingo, tingo….” and finally ends with “¡TANGO!” Whoever is holding the ball on “TANGO” runs up to the board to write a sentence with tener + que. Ex: Tengo que estudiar.

Verbs competition Divide the class into 2 groups, group A and group B (or they can choose their own names, like “los ganadores”) Write all 5 subject pronouns on both sides of the board (for group A and group B) Each group selects their first representative to go up to the board. Teacher announces a verb to conjugate (randomly choose from all regular and irregular verbs) Students A and B each write all 5 conjugations on their side of the board – whoever finishes first correctly wins a point for their team. Classmates can yell out encouragement and help (if teacher allows). Each student chooses the next group representative – no one can go twice until each student has tried at least once.
