Total Cost in USD Million: $2.64 MD Project Description: The purpose of the Project is to increase access to basic drinking water and wastewater services in unserved areas and reduce exposure to untreated wastewater discharges by expanding the drinking water system and constructing the wastewater collection and treatment systems, contributing to the reduction of water pollution and the risk of waterborne diseases. Community Benefits : The environmental and human health outcomes expected for the Project include: a) Increasing access and use of drinking water o New service to 50 households o Improved service to 661 households. b) Increasing access and use of wastewater collection and treatment services o New service to 711 households o New treatment capacity of 0.12 million gallons a day c) Reducing untreated or inadequately treated discharges of 0.11 million gallons a day Nombre del Proyecto y Localización: Ampliación de la Red de Agua Potable, Construcción del Sistema de Alcantarillado Sanitario y Construcción de la Planta de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales en San Agustín, Chihuahua. Costo Total en Millones de Dólares: $2.64 Millones de Dólares Descripción del Proyecto: El propósito del Proyecto es ampliar el acceso a los servicios básicos de agua potable, alcantarillado y saneamiento en áreas sin servicio y reducir el contacto con descargas de agua residual, esto al ampliar el sistema de agua potable y construir los sistemas de recolección y tratamiento de aguas residuales, contribuyendo así a la reducción de los riesgos asociados a enfermedades de origen hídrico y a la contaminación. Beneficios a la Comunidad: Con la implementación del Proyecto se eliminará el uso de letrinas y desagües al aire libre y se contribuirá a reducir la contaminación potencial de las aguas subterráneas y superficiales resultado de la disposición inadecuada de aguas residuales sin tratamiento. Los beneficios ambientales esperados del Proyecto son: a) Mayor acceso al servicio de alcantarillado sanitario mediante 711 nuevas conexiones b) Eliminación de 4.81 lps de descargas de agua residual no tratada relacionada con domicilios sin servicio.
