Type of Project: Wastewater Collection System and Household Hookups. Total Cost in USD Million: $22.00 MD Project Description: Construction of a the wastewater collection system for the B & C Colonia, an unincorporated community in the County of Yuma. The project includes the installation of approximately 80,000 l.f. of sewer lines,150 manholes and 780 connections to serve approximately 5,500 residents Community Benefits: The project is one of those approved under the FY05/06 PDAP-BEIF Prioritization process. The project is ranked as a Category 1, the highest ranking in terms of the environmental and human health need intended to be addressed. The project will help eliminate the need for septic tanks and cesspools that allow a risk of exposure of untreated or inadequately wastewater to community residents and the environment including seepage into the groundwater and the Colorado River. Costo Total en Millones de Dólares: $22.00 Millones de Dólares Descripción del Proyecto: Construcción del sistema de alcantarillado para los habitantes de la Colonia B y C.El proyecto incluye la instalación de aproximadamente 80,000 l.f. de líneas de alcantarillado, 150 pozos de visita, y 780 conexiones domiciliarias para dar servicio a aproximadamente 5,500 residentes Beneficios a la Comunidad: El proyecto es uno de los aprobados bajo el proceso de Priorización FY05/06 PDAP-BEIF. El proyecto está clasificado como Categoría 1, la clasificación más alta en términos de necesidad de salud ambiental y humana a ser atendida. El proyecto ayudará a eliminar la necesidad de fosas sépticas y de pozos negros que ocasionan un riesgo de exposición de los residentes de la comunidad a aguas residuales no tratadas o tratadas inadecuadamente y el medio ambiente incluso la infiltración en aguas subterráneas y al Río Colorado.
