The project will also lead to reduced dependence on underground water reserves shared by both countries. The water reuse system capacity is 66 liters per second and will benefit 90,000 residents. Breve Descripción del Proyecto: Las aguas tratadas podrán reutilizarse en riego de áreas verdes y posiblemente en algunos procesos industriales en el Noroeste de El Paso. La obra permitirá un mejor aprovechamiento del acuífero del Bolsón de la Mesilla que comparten ambos países. La capacidad del sistema de reuso es de 66 litros por segundo y se benefician 90,000 personas. Project Name and Location : Northwest Reclaimed Water System Phases I and II, El Paso, TX. Type of Project: Wastewater Reuse Project Total Cost in USD Million: $11.7 million dollars Project Description: Reduction of the over-exploitation of the aquifer. Highly treated wastewater suitable for recycling as a reclaimed water supply for irrigation of parks and golf courses in NW El Paso. Community Benefits: The provision of reclaimed water for non- potable uses will provide an alternative type of water conservation that will serve as a viable means of ensuring a fresh inter supply for the future and will benefit 90,000 residents.
