1 F-25 CHECK LIST DE DOCUMENTOS PARA CONSULTA (BIBLIOTECA) PROYECTO 510 Brief Description: Breve Descripción del Proyecto: Project Name and Location : Wastewater Collection and Treatment Project in Sonoyta, Sonora Type of Project: Wastewater Hookups and Wastewater Treatment Total Cost in USD Million: $2.61 Project Description: The objective is to expand the sewage system to serve the remaining of the population in Sonoyta, being estimated at approximately 3,713 inhabitants, nearly all of whom live in the Barrio La Botella, Ejido Pápagos and Ejido Hombre Blanco neighborhoods. Regarding the WW treatment, the lagoons will be relocated to a new and larger site. The project will be managed in part by the Mexican National Water Commission (CNA). Community Benefits: The expansion of the wastewater collection system with 720 new connections will reduce exposure of the residents of these areas to raw wastewater and improve the quality of the groundwater. The implementation of a new WWTP will reduce the contamination loads of the Rio Sonoyta, and will provide reuse water for irrigation, thereby reducing the need for groundwater pumping and drawdown. Nombre del Proyecto y Localización: Proyecto de alcantarillado y saneamiento en Sonoyta, Sonora Tipo de Proyecto: Conexiones domésticas a los servicios de alcantarillado y tratamiento de aguas residuales Costo Total en Millones de Dólares: $2.61 Descripción del Proyecto: El proceso de tratamiento lagunal de aguas residuales existente con una capacidad de tratamiento de 16 l/s aproximadamente, no es suficiente, de acorde al proyecto ejecutivo es necesaria la construccion de un nuevo sistema lagunal. Beneficios a la Comunidad: La ampliación del sistema de alcantarillado con 720 descargas domiciliarias nuevas reducirá el contacto de los habitantes con aguas residuales crudas y mejorará así la calidad de las aguas del subsuelo. La construcción de un nuevo sistema lagunar reducirá las cargas contaminantes al Río Sonoyta y promoverá el reuso del agua para actividades agropecuarias, reduciendo la necesidad del bombeo de aguas del subsuelo para el riego de campos agrícolas.
