 Infinitive: o This is the base form of the verb, the “to _______.” It is not matched to a specific subject. It will always end with –AR, -ER, or –IR.  Conjugate: o This is when you change the verb to match it to the subject.  Root/Stem: o The part of the verb that tells you the meaning of the verb. This does not change in a regular verb. It is the part you are left with after you remove the –AR, -ER, or –IR ending from the infinitive.  Ending: o In the infinitive form this will be –AR, -ER, or –IR. In the conjugated form this part tells you who is doing the action or being.
