2. USES To say what we are doing at the time of speaking. (Para decir lo que estamos haciendo en el momento de hablar). John is making a cake at the moment. Your friends are repairing my motorbike.
To talk about temporary actions which are not routines or habits. The action is not necessarily happening at the time of speaking (Para hablar de acciones temporales que no son rutinas o hábitos. La acción no tiene porque estar ocurriendo en el momento de hablar) I´m reading a really good book at the moment. (someone speaking on the phone) Peter is learning Spanish. (because he wants to go to Spain. Perhaps he isn´t learning Spanish at the time of speaking)
To talk about arrangements in the future (Para hablar de citas, con valor de futuro). A: What are you doing on Saturday evening? B: I´m going to the theatre. Mark is going to the dentist on Tuesday morning.
