2. USES We use past continuous to talk about a period of time in the past. (Usamos el pasado continuo para hablar de un periodo de tiempo que ocurrió en el pasado). 9 We use past simple and continuous together to say that something happened in the middle of something else. (Usamos el pasado simple y continuo juntos para decir que algo ocurrió en medio de otra acción o hecho) It was raining when I got up I hurt my back while I was working in the garden

10 But we use the past simple to say that one thing happened after another. (Pero usamos el pasado simple para decir que una cosa ocurrió después de otra). I was walking along the road when I saw Dave. So I stopped, and we had a chat Mark is going to the dentist on Tuesday morning.
