12  In Spanish you can express what is happening right now in 2 ways: › I am running.  Regular present tense: Yo corro.  Present Progressive: Yo estoy corriendo.  Spanish speakers would use the regular present tense much more than the Present Progressive.  Present progressive is only used for what is happening RIGHT NOW – tends to be used more as emphasis.

16  -ER and -IR verbs: › Take of the –er or -ir ending › Add –iendo › -ER example:  beber – er = beb  beb + iendo = bebiendo › -IR example:  Asistir – ir = asist  Asist + iendo = asistiendo
