DISCUSING HOW OFTEN YOU DO THINGS 5.1

Vocabulary ¿Con qué frecuencia?: How often? ¿Siempre?: Do you always? durante: during ¿Todavía?: Still? desayunar: to eat breakfast Nunca: never a veces: sometimes muchas veces: many times (often) ayudar: to help sólo cuando: only when

TO FIND OUT HOW OFTEN A FRIEND DOES THINGS, ASK; ¿Con qué frecuencia practicas el piano? ¿Siempre desayunas? ¿Durante la semana estudias el español? ¿Todavía ayudas en casa? YOUR FRIEND MIGHT RESPOND: Practico todos los días. Nunca desayuno por la mañana. A veces estudio el español. Sí, pero sólo cuando no tengo tarea. The verb in the response is conjugated in the yo form. The verb in the question is conjugated in the tú form. The question is addressing one individual.

Negation To state never or not ever, put nunca before the verb. It is common to use no and nunca or no and nada (nothing) together in the same sentence. In that case, be sure to put no in front of the verb and nunca or nada after the verb. Nunca tomo el autobús. I never take the bus. No tomo el autobus nunca. I never take the bus. Los sábados no hago nada. On Saturdays I don’t do anything.
