For teachers: Objectives: 1.Students will be able to interpret Spanish clothing items and numbers in order to play the game. 2.Students will be able to distinguish when cuesta and cuestan are used. Prep: Load the powerpoint on your computer. Have prizes ready to give out with each round of play (candy, extra credit points, stickers, etc.) You will likely have multiple winners each round, so be sure to have plenty. Students will each need a piece of scratch paper and pencil to use for keeping score. The game: With my students I tend to be very flexible about giving points. It they (or their partner) can make a good justification for why they deserve points on an item, I will give it to them. At the end of each round, I have them raise their hands… ¿Quién tiene más de 20 euros? ¿Más de 30? ¿Más de 40? Etc. Until we have the winners for that round. Instructions: Work with a partner. Your partner will keep score for you, and you keep score for them. ACTION: Find a partner. Each of you need to get out scratch paper to use to keep score now! ©Catharyn Crane,

The game: In a series of different rounds of play, you will be given different prices for certain clothing items. If your partner is wearing the given items, they earn money (or points) for wearing them. Object of the game: If your clothes “cost” more than the other students, based on the prices given for that round, you win! ©Catharyn Crane,

Instructions: We will play several different rounds. You have a chance to win each round, as we will start with fresh points for each one. For each item listed that your partner is wearing, you write down the number of “euros” or points, indicated. The “cost” of the clothes is just made up for each round. It’s not how much your clothes actually cost! At the end of each round, add up how many “euros” your partner’s clothes are worth.
