30 Unidad 3: Conjugating ◦ Pg.101 ◦ In English when we’re talking about someone doing a specific action we only have to tweak the verb once. Take the verb eat for example: ◦ I am eating. ◦ You are eating. ◦ He/She is eating. ◦ We are eating ◦ They are eating. ◦ Notice how the verb to eat only changed to eating for all the subjects. However, you did have to add an am, are, or is to clarify. Spanish has a different way to clarify who we are talking about.

31 Unidad 3: Conjugating ◦ Pg.101 ◦ In Spanish when you’re talking about someone doing an action the verb changes according to who you’re talking to. Let’s look at the verb to talk again. In spanish the verb to talk is ‘hablar.’ ◦ Yo habl o ◦ Tú habl as ◦ Él/Ella/Usted habl a ◦ Nosotros/Nosotras hablam os ◦ Ellos habl an ◦ The ending of the verb changes.
