Un Mapa De Tesoro

El Mapa… Include a drawing of all of the following: 1.el lago 2.el bosque 3.las montañas 4.el río 5.la playa 6.el océano 7.la catarata 8.la isla 9.el volcán 10.el árbol And any additional vocabulary that you wish, up to 15 words.

Using estar to describe location  When we describe the location of something (or someone), we use the verb estar. Examples:  Las montañas están en el norte de España.  Barcelona está en el este de España.  Georgia está en el sur de los Estados Unidos.

Mira tu mapa… 1.¿Qué hay en el norte de tu mapa? 2.¿Qué hay en el sur de tu mapa? 3.¿Qué hay en el este de tu mapa? 4.¿Qué hay en el oeste de tu mapa? 5.¿Qué hay en el centro de tu mapa? 6.¿Dónde hay el tesoro en tu mapa?

Using estar + al / al + de/ del  When we want to describe the location of an object (or a person) with respect to another object (or person), we use the construction above.  Examples: El gimnasio está al norte de la oficina. La oficina está al este de la biblioteca. *IF the object after de is masculine, the words de + el = del La piscina está al sureste del volcán. El volcán está al norte del oceano. Now, write one sentence about your map that requires de la, and one that requires del.

El Mapa Include a compass on your map with all the cardinal points labeled: Norte, Sur, Oeste, Este, Noroeste, Noreste, Suroeste, Sureste Make your map colorful and interesting!

El Ensayo Part 1: For Part 1 of your Essay, you will write 10 sentences (1 with each of 10 places) telling where things are located on your map. Examples: El volcán está en el norte. Las montañas están en el este. Part 2: For Part 2, you will write 10 sentences (1 with each of the 10 places above) telling where things are located in relation to something else. Make sure that you use all the cardinal points at least once. Por ejemplo: La playa está al norte del lago. Las montañas están al sur de la catarata.

Giving orders in Spanish  To give orders in Spanish, we use a structure called the Mandato, or “Command”.  For most verbs, giving a command simply means that you put the verb in the s/he form.  Examples: ¡Baila! – Dance! ¡Habla! – Speak! ¡Come! – Eat! ¡Concentra! – Concentrate!

Giving orders in Spanish  Stem-changing verbs will make the stem- change in the command: ¡Juega! – Play! ¡Duerme! – Sleep! ¡Empieza! – Begin!

To give directions from one place to another…  Some verbs that you would use in telling someone how to get somewhere are:  Empezar (e-ie) to begin  Doblar a la derecha to turn right  Doblar a la izquierda ---- to turn left  Continuar derecho --- to continue straight  Parar ---- to stop

El Ensayo Part 3: El Tesoro ¿Dónde está el tesoro? Write instructions for finding your treasure. Try to write five instructions. Example: Empieza en las montañas. Dobla a la derecha en el volcán. Continua derecho a las flores. Dobla a la izquierda. El tesoro está en la playa.
