The Near Future The near future allows you to talk about the future using the structure “ir + infinitive”. It is the English equivalent of “I am going to…” These are the parts of ‘ir’ = to go…. Person The part of ‘Ir’ IVoy You (singular)Vas He/she/itVa+the infinitive (a whole verb) We Vamos(eg. comer = to eat) You (plural)Vais They Van EXAMPLES…. 1. Simple Future The simple future allows you to talk about what you will do in the future. This is an easy tense to remember as the same endings get added to all the infinitives. To start with, you need an infinitive, i.e. vivir, comer, escuchar.. etc Then, you need to add on the endings to the infinitive. The endings are … -ía -ías -ía -íamos -íais -ían These endings work for -er, -ir and also -ar verbs, like the future tense.
