3 Standard and objective Notes #2 Ir+a+infinitive Standard 1.2- Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics. Objective: Students will learn the how to use the simple future tense using the verb IR and how similar the structure is to the English language future tense.

4 3 To form the present tense: for –ar ending verbs STEM + Verb ending -o yo -as tu -a él, ella, Ud. -amos nosotros/as X -an ellos,ellas, Uds

6 El verbo IR “to be going to do something” When you talk about things you are planning to do in the future, you say what you are going to do. To talk about activities you are going to do, use the phrase: yo tú él, ella/ usted nosotros(as) X ellos(as)/ ustedes U2E3, p. 149 voy a... vas a... va a... vamos a van a... ir+a+infinitive (a verb)

8 Yo voy a estudiar más. Yo voy a ver la televisión menos. Yo voy a hacer mi tarea. Yo voy a ser más simpático. Use the construction Voy + a + infinitive to talk about what you will do in the future. I am going to study more. I am going to watch TV less. I am going to do my homework. I am going to be nicer.
