The verb ser You see- the word ES is actually the él/ella/usted conjugation of the verb ser. Ser is an irregular verb, which means it doesn’t follow the same conjugation pattern as other verbs (like the –ar verbs we talked about last unit). Ser means “to be” and here is how we use it 
