Infinitives The infinitive is like a lump of clay that can be molded to match the subject of the sentence it is used in TO EAT – I eat – you eat – he/ she eats – we eat – they eat

Tú – Usted Tú (informal) – speaking to a friend – speaking to a relative – speaking to someone younger Usted (formal) – speaking to someone older – speaking to someone you don’t know – speaking to someone in a higher position than yourself
