Negative tú commands  Use a negative tú command to tell your friend or someone you know well what NOT to do. Don’t talk, Don’t run…  To form a negative tú command:  1. Put the verb in the yo form (duermo, pongo…)  2. Drop the –o  3. Add the opposite ending  -es for –AR verbs  -as for ER/IR verbs

¡Irregulares!  Of course, there are some irregulars that you need to memorize:  dar (doy) to give →¡No des!  estar (estoy) to be →¡No estés!  ir (voy) to go →¡No vayas!  ser (soy) to be →¡No seas!  Saber (sé) to know→ ¡No sepas! *Notice that the yo form of all of these verbs ends in –oy, not –o.

Words that end in Car/Gar/Zar  have a spelling change in the ending

Car Verbs:   sacar (to take out)   practicar (to practice)   tocar (play an instrument)   pescar (to fish)   buscar (to look for)   placticar (to chat)   any other words in the future that end with car.   Change the ending from ces to ques   No saques, no practiques, no toques

Gar Verbs:   Llegar (to arrive)   Pagar (to pay)   Apagar (to turn off)   Jugar (to play)   any other words in the future that end with gar.   Change the ending from ges to gues   No llegues, no pagues, no apagues

Zar Verbs:   Almorzar (to eat lunch)   Empezar (to start)   Cazar (to hunt)   And any other words that end with Zar   Change the ending from zes to ces   No almuerces, no empieces
