Repaso de los pronombres directos

¿Qué es un objeto directo ¿Qué es un objeto directo? A direct object is the noun that receives the action of the verb. We can find the D.O. by asking ourselves, “Who or what is being ____(verb)____?” The answer to this question is the D.O.

In Spanish, the direct object will usually come immediately after the verb. Ex.) Llevo un abrigo. (I wear a coat.) What is being worn? The coat (un abrigo) is being worn. “Un abrigo” is the direct object of the sentence.

Ex. ) Necesito aprender el español. (I need to learn Spanish Ex.) Necesito aprender el español. (I need to learn Spanish.) What needs to be learned? Spanish (el español) needs to be learned. “El español” is the direct object.

¿Qué es un pronombre directo ¿Qué es un pronombre directo? A direct object pronoun replaces the direct object in a sentence. In English, we can say, “I wear the coat.” We can also say, “I wear it.” In this example, “the coat” is the direct object. “It” is the direct object pronoun.

The direct object pronoun that needs to be used depends on the direct object in the sentence.

1. ) Before the conjugated verb ¡Ojo 1.) Before the conjugated verb ¡Ojo! In English, the DOP comes after the verb. Vemos a ti. = Te vemos. (We see you.) No necesitas los libros. = No los necesitas. (You don’t need the books.) = (You don’t need them.) ¿Juegan al fútbol? = ¿Lo juegan? (Do they play soccer?) = (Do they play it?) Miro a vosotros. = Os miro. (I watch you all.)

2.) Attached to an infinitive Voy a beber agua. = Voy a beberlo. (I am going to drink it.) Necesitan comprar fruta. = Necesitan comprarla. (They need to buy it.) Podéis ver a mi. = Podéis verme. (You all can see me.) No queremos leer los libros. = No queremos leerlos. (We don’t want to read them.)

OR… No queremos leerlos.
