2 Verb comes before subject!
Making questions To make a question always remember, Verb comes before subject! Questions are indicated by ¿ and ? Like parenthesis

3 Por ejemplo- Ella estudia mucho. She studies a lot. How would I ask the question to get a yes/no answer? ¿Estudia ella mucho? Does she study a lot? Notice the verb comes BEFORE the subject.

4 The formulas are: ¿verb + subject? ¿V+S? ¿verb + subject + rest of the sentence? ¿V+S+RS?

5 “Tag words” are used at the end of sentences for yes and no confirmations. These tag words are ¿verdad? and ¿no? Ella estudia mucho, ¿verdad? Ella estudia mucho, ¿no?

6 Question words Question words can be used in the formulas.
¿QW+V+S+(RS)? There are some mutants to this, but they are usually memorized responses. ¿cuántos(as)? is one that will make a mutation. ¿Cuántos años tienes tú? (¿QW +noun+V+S?)

¿Cuántos años tienes tú? (¿QW +noun+V+S?) ¿Quién es el profesor de música? (¿QW/S+V+RS?)

¿Dónde?-Where? ¿Quién/es?-Who? ¿A dónde?-Where to/To where? ¿Cuál/es?-Which?/What? ¿Cuántos/as?-How many/How much? ¿De dónde?-Where from?/ From where?

9 Difference between Qué and Cuál/es
Both of these questions words can mean “what?”, but there are differences. Cuál/es is used to ask for specific information or to chooses form a limited set of possibilities. It is never used in front of a noun.

10 Difference between Qué and Cuál/es
Que is used to ask for general information, explanation, or definitions. It is used in front of nouns. ¿Qué libros leen los estudiantes? What books do the students read? ¿Cuál quieres leer tú, el libro rojo o el libro azul? Which do you want to read, the red book or the blue book?

11 Ask questions to get the following answers.
Ella compra el libro. ¿Qué compra ella? 2. Luis contesta la pregunta. ¿Quién contesta la pregunta? 3. Ellos trabajan a la escuela. ¿Dónde trabajan ellos? When the statement has tú or Uds., you will have to answer with a different verb.

12 ¿Qué escuchas tú? What are you listening to? Answer with I Yo escucho la radio. ¿Dónde estudian Uds.? Where do you all study? Answer with we Nosotros estudiamos en la biblioteca.
