2  A direct object tells who or what receives the action of the verb.  Busco un libro. (I am looking for a book).  Compré unos guantes. (I bought some gloves).

3  Direct object pronouns completely replace direct objects (we do this in English and in Spanish)  In conversations, in order to avoid repeating a direct object noun, you can replace it with a direct object pronoun. (In English a direct object pronoun are words like it, them, him, and her)

4 ¿Dónde compraste tus aretes? Where did you buy your earrings? Los compré en la joyería Sanchez. I bought them at Sanchez jewelry.  *In this example, the direct object pronoun replaces the direct object noun in order to avoid repeating  the direct object pronoun for aretes is los because they are masculine and plural.
