TENER + QUE + INFINITIVE Examples: I have to work. = Yo tengo que trabajar. We have to study. = Nosotros tenemos que estudiar. They have to read. = Ellos tienen que leer.

TENER QUE + infinitivo = to have to What’s an infinitive? An unconjugated verb that has not tense (present, past, future) and no form (alignment with a subject). In English, it usually has “to” in front of it (to study, to talk, to pass, to play, to listen). examples: estudiar, hablar, pasar, jugar, escuchar To express something someone HAS TO DO, use tener que + infinitivo Example: I have to study for Spanish class. You conjugate necesitar to match the subject and leave the following verb in the infinitive. Examples: I need to eat vegtables. = Yo necesito comer los vegetales We need to listen in class. = Nosotros necesitamos escuchar en clase.
