When do you use IR? Ir means to go and it’s used to talk about where someone is going

3 ir = to go voy vamos vas vais va van yo nosotros nosotras tú vosotros
vosotras usted él ella ustedes ellos ellas voy vamos vas vais va van

4 a + el = al Ir is always followed by the word a (to).
When a is followed by the word el, it combines to make the word al. a + el = al Ex. Yo voy al baño. I’m going to the bathroom.

ir + a + infinitive

7 The verb ir can be used to talk about what you are going to do by using the following construction:
ir + a + infinitive

8 ir + a + infinitive voy vamos vas vais va van
an unconjugated verb (still ends in –AR, -ER, -IR) a

9 EJEMPLOS I’m going to study. Are you going to watch TV?
Marta is going to play volleyball. We are going to listen to music. The students are going to work.

EJEMPLOS I’m going to study. Yo voy a estudiar. SUBJECT + “IR” + A + INFINITIVE

11 ¿Tú vas a ver la televisón? SUBJECT + “IR” + A + INFINITIVE
EJEMPLOS Are you going to watch TV? ¿Tú vas a ver la televisón? SUBJECT + “IR” + A + INFINITIVE
