ESTAR (to be) WITH PREPOSITIONS 1.You've already used some forms of the verb estar to talk about how someone is feeling or where someone is or something is. o Estar is irregular in the present tense.

ESTAR: SIMPLE RULES There are two situations in which we use a form of estar. 1. LOCATION (asking or telling where something or someone is): Example: Chicago y Nueva York están en los Estados Unidos. 2. TEMPORARY CONDITION (describing a physical or emotional condition that can change)

Examples of ESTAR, temporary condition  Yo estoy bien (enfermo)  La casa está sucia (limpia)  Usted está contento/feliz (triste)  I am well (sick)  The house is dirty (clean)  You are happy (sad)
