1 La Orientación PREA The PREA Orientation is reviewed with every youth in OJJ custody by their PPO or intake staff when they enter OJJ services and during each change of placement/location. Staff will review each slide in a guided discussion and address questions or concerns of the youth. The PREA Orientation PPT is used in conjunction with the PREA Youth Safety Guide brochure. Staff give each youth a brochure and will assist the youth with adding the names of their counselor, their probation officer and the local Rape Crisis Center telephone number to the back of the brochure for future reference. If youth have questions or concerns at a later time after reviewing the PREA information, they can talk with their counselor or probation officer. Completion of PREA orientation activities must be documented in JETS. Specific procedures are outlined in the OJJ PREA policy, C.2.11, Section IX.

4 Relaciones sanas y Relaciones dañinas

The subjects addressed in these slides are sensitive and may provoke potential traumatic responses from youth who may have been victimized in the past. Staff presenting the PPT and discussing the content with youth should be prepared for potential responses. Staff can offer the availability of the counselor, PPO or other staff for further discussion if the youth would like. In order for change to endure, enforcement of agency’s zero tolerance policies and procedures is critical. In addition to training, staff must believe it’s about doing the right thing and keeping themselves, coworkers and residents safe. OJJ is committed to not allowing any form of sexual abuse and sexual harassment toward residents in its custody. This means that no sexual abuse or harassment will be tolerated in any form or fashion.

7 Te Valoramos a ti y a tu Seguridad
Tú sabes que el personal está aquí para tu seguridad. Debes reportar si te sientes amenazado(a) o intimidado(a). No se tomarán represalias en tu contra si reportas un incidente. El personal debe supervisarte siempre. Youth are encouraged to report all incidents of sexual harassment or abuse. They can report incidents to any staff member or by using one of the toll-free telephone lines on the brochure. Youth have the right to be free from retaliation for reporting incidents. Explain the meaning of retaliation. Retaliation for reporting occurs when a youth or staff injures, harms or intimidates a person who has reported sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment-or attempts to do so in response to the report. Youth should not be threatened, punished or have privileges removed for reporting incidents. However, there are consequences when a youth knowingly makes a false report or gives staff false information.

8 ¡Eres responsable de tu propia CONDUCTA!
Sé consciente de tu lenguaje corporal y no hables con malas palabras. No participes en conversaciones indebidas con el personal ni con otros jóvenes. Discuss some examples of inappropriate language or behavior with the youth. In the facilities, male youth may participate in the Healthy Masculinity program, which addresses appropriate behavior.

9 Concéntrate en ti mismo(a)
Enfrenta tus problemas mientras estás aquí. Esta es tu oportunidad de pensar en tu vida y de concentrarte en ti mismo(a). No le pidas a nadie favores que vayan en contra de las normas. No aceptes favores que vayan en contra de las reglas. Discuss examples and scenarios that will help the youth understand the expectations.

10 Reporta e Informa Reporta de inmediato a un empleado de tu confianza, cualquier conducta indebida como el acoso o el abuso sexual. Puedes reportarlo a tu consejero, a tu agente de libertad probatoria o a la línea directa del Servicio de Investigación ( ). Un empleado te dará instrucciones de cómo hacer llamadas telefónicas. Remind the youth to keep the brochure as it has reporting information and telephone numbers in it.

11 Formulario de Quejas para Clientes (ARP)
También puedes reportar el acoso o el abuso sexual, a través del Formulario de Quejas para Clientes/Formulario de Proceso de Solución Administrativa (ARP por sus siglas en inglés). Estos formularios están disponibles en todas las instalaciones de la OJJ. Los puedes conseguir con tu consejero o tu agente de libertad probatoria. Debes entregar el formulario a tu consejero o a tu agente de libertad probatoria. Igualmente puedes ponerlo en el buzón de ARP. Estos están ubicados en tu dormitorio, la cafetería, escuela y enfermería. Solo tendrán acceso a tu información las personas que necesiten saberla para tomar decisiones. Se mantendrá en privado toda la información reportada.

12 Si te Agreden Sexualmente…
Reporta la agresión tan pronto como puedas. No te cepilles los dientes. No comas ni bebas nada. No te duches. No te cambies ni laves la ropa.

13 Si te Agreden Sexualmente continuación…
Te llevarán al hospital. Recibirás asistencia médica. Al ser víctima de una agresión sexual, te informarán sobre tus derechos. Se te ofrecerá consejería y otro tipo de servicios.

14 Rompe el Silencio (para mujeres)
Cuando son agredidas, acosadas o abusadas sexualmente, algunas víctimas del sexo femenino pudieran no contarlo porque sienten vergüenza. Las víctimas se preocupan por sus familias y se preguntan: “¿Que pasará si lo cuento?” Las víctimas no son responsables de la conducta ni de las consecuencias que sufra la persona que les hizo daño. Algunas mujeres crecieron en un ambiente de violencia doméstica. Por lo tanto, creen que el abuso en las relaciones es normal. Si una víctima de acoso, agresión o abuso sexual se excita sexualmente, eso no significa que dio su permiso para que esto ocurriera. Es una reacción normal e involuntaria.

15 Rompe el Silencio (para hombres)
Algunas víctimas del sexo masculino se sienten humilladas y avergonzadas y por eso no le cuentan a nadie. Puede que algunos varones no quieran apoyo emocional o psicológico después de que sanen las heridas, porque piensan que lo que les sucedió fue solo una agresión física. Algunos varones temen que se cuestione su identidad sexual, por lo tanto no reportan lo ocurrido. Algunos varones no le cuentan a nadie porque se les ha inculcado que los hombres no pueden ser víctimas de acoso, agresión ni abuso sexual. Si una víctima de acoso, agresión o abuso sexual se excita sexualmente, eso no significa que dio su permiso para que esto ocurriera. Es una reacción normal e involuntaria.

16 Acusaciones Falsas Cuando se hace un reporte es importante ser sincero. Puedes meterte en problemas por hacer reportes falsos o por dar información falsa a propósito al personal. Es contra la ley. Youth should be encouraged to report all incidents of sexual harassment/abuse/assault that they believe to be true. Illegal false allegations refers to false allegations that are deliberately made against staff regarding sexual harassment/abuse/assault. There are consequences or youth who knowingly make false reports. If a youth truly believes there has been an incident, he should report it so there can be an investigation to gather more information about the incident.

17 La Agresión Sexual es un Delito
Toda agresión sexual se reportará a las autoridades locales. Se investigará a fondo cada caso de agresión, acoso o abuso sexual.

18 Si agredes sexualmente a otro joven
Serás sujeto a sanciones por parte de la OJJ, como la pérdida de ciertos privilegios. Las autoridades locales llevaran a cabo una investigación penal y se te puede acusar de haber cometido un delito. Si el caso se resuelve en tu contra, se te puede imponer una condena más. La ley en Luisiana exige que ciertos agresores sexuales se registren en la comunidad donde viven.

19 Riesgo de contraer Enfermedades de Transmisión Sexual
Algunos tipos de relaciones sexuales pueden aumentar el riesgo de contraer enfermedades de transmisión sexual, entre ellas: herpes genital, VIH, o SIDA.

20 Hechos relacionados con el Acoso, la Agresión y el Abuso Sexual
Cualquier persona puede ser víctima de acoso, agresión o abuso sexual. El perpetrador puede ser hombre o mujer. La víctima puede ser hombre o mujer.
