63 El preterito- Regular and irregular verbs
verbs that end in car, gar, and zar have spelling changes in the YO forms of the PRETERITE tense. In car verbs, the C changes to QU. In gar verbs, the G changes to GU. In zar verbs, the Z changes to C. The verb HACER (to make, to do) is IRREGULAR in the preterite. A question asked with HACER will often be answered using another VERB. To form the preterite of weather expressions with HACE, replace HACE with HIZO. Use the preterite to say what the weather was LIKE over a specific period or when telling how LONG conditions lasted. Use nevó for is snowed and llovió for it rained.

After finishing translating the story; we will go over it as a class, and you and your group will make the necessary corrections on your paper. Once that’s done, you will then work on your fill in blanks paper to create your own story. Use the pictures to guide you through it. Each student is responsible for one paragraph, write your names next to each paragraph you are responsible for. Transfer the story to a big poster, glue the pictures (make sure to color them) next to the paragraph they refer to and put your names on the back of poster.
