Affirmative and Negative Words
Negative Constructions Here are some affirmative and negative words that you already know. Remember they are ANTONYMS.
Negative Constructions Affirmative alguien algo alguno, alguna (pronoun) algún, alguna (adj.) siempre también
Negative Constructions Negative nadie nada ninguno, ninguna (pronoun) ningún, ninguna (adj.) nunca tampoco
Negative Constructions Algún and ningún are always written with an accent.
Negative Constructions Affirmative words usually come before the main verb of the sentence. In a question they may come after the verb.
Negative Constructions Ella también lo recuerda. Alguien cumplió años? Se repartió algo? Siempre vas a la panadería?
Negative Constructions Negative words may come before or after the verb. But if they come after, we must use no before the verb.
Negative Constructions Nadie fue a la reunión. No fue nadie a la reunión.
Negative Constructions Nunca llora. No llora nunca.
Negative Constructions Ninguno de ellos se quitó el abrigo. No se quitó el abrigo ninguno de ellos.
