A Kinesthetic and Visual Movement Jean Lynch and MariaElena McGrane

Why visuals or movement?

The use of visuals and movement in the classroom help our students make brain connections with new information.

When we move a substance called dopamine is released. It promotes the production of synapses, strengthens brain cells and keeps them from dying out. Movement gets our hearts pumping so more blood and oxygen gets to the brain. Associating a movement with a piece of information will help students' brains make stronger neural connections than if the information is simply presented to them.
