2 Repaso: Sustantivos (Nouns)
In English, people and animals are masculine or feminine, but things are always neutral in gender. In Spanish, ALL nouns, including things, are masculine or feminine. With some exceptions, nouns ending in: L.O.N.E.R.S. are masculine D.(IÓN).Z.A are feminine But usually we just have to look for the –o or the –a  animal libro cuaderno mochila regla ropa

3 Repaso: Sustantivos (Nouns)
Singular nouns name one of something. Plural nouns name more than one of something. If a singular noun ends in a vowel, add –s to make it plural. If a singular nouns ends in a consonant, add –es to make it plural.

4 Repaso: Definite Articles
Definite articles mean “the”. We use them in Spanish to say “the” with a specific noun. They have different forms that agree with their noun in gender and number (just like adjectives do!) 5 Indefinite articles Indefinite articles mean “a”, “an”, or “some”. They can be masculine, feminine, singular, or plural depending on the noun that they describe. Use indefinite articles can sometimes be left out, especially when the noun is plural Necesito un diccionario. ¿Tienes (unos) lápices? 6 To talk about amounts of things, use the following adjectives:
Remember: these words, like articles, agree with the noun they describe in gender and number. ¿Cuánta tarea tienes? Tengo mucha. Singular ¿cuánto (a)? How much? mucho(a) A lot of, much poco(a) Little, not much Plural ¿cuántos (as)? How many? muchos(as) A lot of, many pocos(as) Few, not many

7 ¡Practiquemos! Con una pareja, di (say) cuatro cosas que tienes y cuatro cosas que necesitas para el colegio.

8 ¡Practiquemos! Get a slip of paper with a vocabulary word on it from Srta. Hansen. Try to find that item in the room and correctly label it.
