Superlatives

Superlatives These are used to express the highest or lowest degree of a quality.

Ejemplos: Mi esposo es el hombre más guapo de Irlanda del Norte (en mi opinión).

Ejemplos: Ella es la chica más amable del mundo.

Ejemplos: Ellos son los turistas más divertidos de los EEUU

Ejemplos: Son las chicas menos felices del mundo.

How do they work? Son las tres… Talk with your 3 o’clock partner and have a look at the examples. What do they mean? How do you format these superlatives?

El/la/los/las + [noun] + más/menos + [adj.] + de Superlatives Format: El/la/los/las + [noun] + más/menos + [adj.] + de

NOTE: The noun can be omitted if the person, place, or thing referred to is clear. Examples: Recomiendo el bistec. Es el más sabroso del menú. Javier es el más rico del mundo.

Práctica: This is the tastiest hamburger in the world. Ésta es la hamburguesa más rica del mundo. He is the least happy person in the class. Él es la persona menos feliz de la clase. The least expensive restaurante in Michigan is McDonalds. El restaurante menos caro de Michigan es McDonalds. I think that he is the funniest. Yo pienso que él es el más gracioso/cómico/chistoso.
