4 TENER QUE + infinitivo = to have to
What’s an infinitive? An unconjugated verb that has not tense (present, past, future) and no form (alignment with a subject). In English, it usually has “to” in front of it (to study, to talk, to pass, to play, to listen). examples: estudiar, hablar, pasar, jugar, escuchar To express something someone HAS TO DO, use tener que + infinitivo Example: I have to study for Spanish class. Yo tengo que estudiar para la clase de español.

5 Necesitar + inf. = to need to (do something)
You can also express what you and others need to do by using the verb necesitar + infinitive. You conjugate necesitar to match the subject and leave the following verb in the infinitive. Note: When you have two verbs together (and the subject DOES NOT change), you usually conjugate the first verb and leave the other one in the infinitive. Examples: I need to eat vegtables. = Yo necesito comer los vegetales We need to listen in class. = Nosotros necesitamos escuchar en clase. They need to do their homework. = Ellos necesitan hacer la tarea.

6 Deber + inf. = Should / Ought to…(do something)
You can say what you and others should or ought to do by using the verb deber + infinitive. You conjugate deber to match the subject and leave the following verb in the infinitive. Note: When you have two verbs together (and the subject DOES NOT change), you usually conjugate the first verb and leave the other one in the infinitive. Examples: I should drink 8 glasses of water. = Yo debo beber ocho vasos de agua. You should eat the cake. = Tú debes comer el pastel. You all should read the menu. = Uds. deben leer el menú.

7 TENER + ganas de (+ Infinitive) = To feel like (doing something)
