Pedir and Servir
Pedir and Servir Pedir and servir are both ir verbs that contain a stem change. In both verbs the e becomes an i when conjugated. The only conjugation where the e DOES NOT become an i is the nosotros form.
Pedir Pedir means to ask for or to order. Example 1: ¿Qué le gustaría pedir? (What would you (formal) like to order? Example 2: Pido el sándwich de jamón. Literal translation: I order the ham sandwich. Understood meaning = I would like to order the ham sándwich.
Pedir Conjugation Yo = pido Tú = pides Él/ella/usted = pide Nosotros = pedimos Ellos/ellas/ustedes = piden
Servir Servir means to serve. Example 1: ¿Qué sirves en una fiesta? What do you serve at a party? Example 2: ¿Quién sirve el desayuno en tu casa? Who serves breakfast at your house?
