The future tense is used in Spanish to talk about future events. It is used when ever we would use the phrase I will… in English. For example; I will go abroad next year.

The reason why the future tense is important to your Spanish GCSE is very simple: You cannot get a grade C without it!

This future tense is known as the simple future as it only consists of one word instead of three parts like the near future tense (voy a + infinitive) This future tense is used for talking about events which are further away in the future such as next year, when Im 30 etc. You will need to be able to demonstrate that you can use both forms of the future tense.

The simple future tense really is simple to form. All you have to do is add the future endings to the infinitive. Theres no messing about with taking endings off first!

The endings are the same for AR, ER and IR verbs. It really is simple! (yo) é (tú) ás (él/ella) á (nosotros) emos (vosotros) éis (ellos/ellas) án

Turn the following present tense sentences into the simple future tense. Hablo (hablar) con mis amigos Come (comer) en el ODR cada día Jugamos (jugar) al futbol en el parque Viven (vivir) al extranjero
