2 The Future Tense You have learned two ways to talk about future events. One way is using the present tense with a time expression. El tren sale a las dos.

3 The Future Tense The other way is by using ir + a + infinitive.
Este sábado voy a reciclar todas las botellas.

4 The Future Tense A third way is to use the future tense.
For most verbs, the stem for the future tense is the infinitive, so learning this tense is easy. En el futuro, la gente vivirá en la Luna.

5 The Future Tense Here are all the forms of hablar, aprender, and vivir in the future tense. Note that all three kinds of verbs have the same endings. All forms have a written accent except the nosotros form.

8 VIVIR viviré vivirás vivirá viviremos viviréis vivirán

9 The Future Tense Mañana comenzaremos el trabajo.
Tomorrow we will begin work. El futuro será mejor. The future will be better.

10 The future in Spanish is called a simple tense- it only requires one word whereas in English it requires the word will.
