Verbos como gustar Verbs like gustar, encantar, and interesar are used to talk about what people like (gustar), love (encantar), or are interested in (interesar).
Verbos como gustar In these type of verbs an indirect object pronoun (me, te, le, nos, *os, les) always goes before the verb. There are only two possible verb endings and they agree with the thing/things that are liked or disliked (NOT the subject of the sentence).
Verbos como gustar Examples: If the noun is singular, use gusta No me gusta la pizza. If the noun is plural, use gustan Me gustan mis clases. To talk about what a person likes to do, use gusta + INFINITIVE ¿Qué te gusta hacer?....Me gusta leer.
Verbos como gustar To add emphasis to the person you are talking about you can add “a+ noun/pronoun” to the beginning of the sentence. (Remember the 4 step process from Spanish 2??)

(A mí) me encanta estar ocupado. I love to be busy. (A mí) me encanta estar ocupado.
A ustedes les gustan deportes. You guys like sports A ustedes les gustan deportes.
You love to go to the pool A ti te encanta ir a la piscina.
(A mí) me encanta ser rubio. I love to be blond (A mí) me encanta ser rubio.
A él y a mí nos encantan ensaladas. He and I love salads A él y a mí nos encantan ensaladas.
You (formal) don’t like to be sick A usted no le gusta estar enfermo.
The woman likes to practice A la mujer le gusta practicar.
A ustedes les encanta el fútbol. You guys love soccer A ustedes les encanta el fútbol.
