2 Gusta or Gustan El verbo GUSTAR
The verb GUSTAR is used to talk about what you and others do/don’t LIKE & do/ don’t LIKE TO DO. It literally translates to: “TO BE PLEASING TO…” The verb GUSTAR is not like other regular verbs in Spanish. It is special because it is only used in the following TWO forms: Gusta or Gustan

3 ¿Gusta or gustan? (How do you decide?)
In order to decide what form of the verb to use, you must look at what follows the verb. You will use GUSTA for singular nouns and activities. You will use GUSTAN for plural nouns. A mí me gusta el helado. A mí me gusta comer. A mí me gustan las fresas.

4 ¿A quién o quiénes….. The verb GUSTAR must be used with an INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUN. The INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUN indicates TO WHOM or FOR WHOM something is pleasing. They are used with the verb gustar for clarity.

10 Remember If a singular noun follows the verb, use: third person singular (él, ella, Ud.) form ej. Me encanta el fútbol. If a verb (INFINITIVE FORM) follows, use: third person singular (él, ella, Ud.) ej. Me encanta jugar al fútbol. If a plural noun follows, use: third person plural (ellos, ellas, Uds.) form ej. Me encantan los deportes.
