Repaso de los DOPs y los IOPs Sp. 2 Cap. 9

Direct Object Pronouns (DOPs) Direct Object: the thing that receives the action of the verb. DOP replaces the object in the sentence. The purpose of using the DOPs is to take out the direct object and replace it with a shorter pronoun… El español para los perezosos 

Direct Object Pronouns (DOPs) me te lo/la nos los/las

Direct Object Pronouns (DOPs) How do you know which pronoun to use? Unless it is ‘me’ ‘te’ or ‘nos’ look at the noun which takes the action of the verb and use the corresponding article to replace it. REMEMBER: ‘el’ becomes ‘lo’ Ej: ¿Quién lava el coche? Mario lo lava.

Two-verb structure When there are 2 verbs in a row and you have an infinitive the DOP may be attached to the infinitive. Ejemplo: Nosotros queremos lavar el coche. Nosotros queremos lavarlo. Nosotros lo queremos lavar.

Práctica Yo preparo la cena. Nosotros queremos hacer la tarea. Ellos escuchan a los profesores. Mi hermano no escucha a mí. La clase lee el libro y la revista.

Práctica Yo la preparo. Nosotros la queremos hacer. / Nosotros queremos hacerla Ellos los escuchan Mi hermano no me escucha. La clase los lee.

Indirect Object Pronouns (IOPs) Indirect Object: To/for whom an action is performed. When “a” and “para” have a person after it, that often signifies the IOP. Ex: A mis amigos les encanta ir al cine Ex: Le di mi tarea a mi perro.

IOP’s IOP’s: Me Nos Te Le Les Used with verbs like gustar

Indirect Object Pronouns (IOPs) IOP placed directly before the conjugated verb or attached to an infinitive. EX: Quiero hacer el pastel para mi mamá. Le quiero hacer el pastel. EX: Quiero comprar la blusa para mi hermana. Le quiero comprar la blusa Quiero comprarle la blusa

Indirect Object Pronouns IOP placed directly before the conjugated verb or attached to an infinitive. A mí me gusta comer las zanahorias A mis padres les encanta comer la comida china Compro el libro a ti. Te compro el libro

IDO verbs IDO verbs require an IOP Gustar Encantar Faltar Quedar Doler Ex: A Marta le duele el estómago.

Práctica Ana likes basketball a lot. Our feet hurt. We want to buy a new car for our dad. The chorus sings the song for them. My parents give me money

Respuestas A Ana le gusta mucho el básquetbol. A nosotros nos duelen los pies. Queremos comprarle un coche nuevo para nuestro papá./Le queremos comprar un coche nuevo para nuestro papá. El coro les canta una canción para ellos. Mis padres me dan dinero.
