Verb estar “to be” express feelings Estoy cansado/a I am tired. (Yo ) estoy nosotros estamos nosotras (Tú ) estás estáis Usted Él está ella Ustedes Ellos están Ellas

Use the verb estar + an adjective when talking about feelings.  Está demasiado cansado-a  Está un poco enfermo-a  Estoy triste o estoy mal  Estoy contenta/to=  Estoy muy ocupado-a

To ask questions to go places with someone or do an activity with a friend use: ¿Puedes ir conmigo al cine? Can you go to the movies with me? Sí/No, puedo ir al cine contigo. ¿Quieres ir a la fiesta conmigo? Sí/No, quiero ir a la fiesta contigo.

Formula: Ir + a + inifinitive Notes from Realidades book: 1.The Infinitive is the basic form of the verb (hablar=to talk, comer= to eat, leer=to read or any –ar, -er or –ir verbs). It means “to…” in English. 2.When you use ir + a with and infinitive means you or others are going to do something in the future. It is the same as “I am going to…….” in English: Voy a comer una hamburguesa esta noche = I am going to eat a hamburguer tonight.

Ir + a + Infinitive you use it to say what you are going to do: I am going to play volleyball In Spanish is the same: Voy a jugar vóleibol. Clue: you don’t conjugate the second verb. It stays in the infinitive

Conjugations of verb to go = ir These are the conjugations of the verb ir : Yo voy, tú vas, él/ella usted va, nosotros/as vamos, ellos/ellas/ Uds. van

¿Qué vas a hacer esta tarde? Esta tarde mis amigos y yo vamos a montar en bicicleta.

¿Qué vas a hacer este fin de semana? Mis amigos y yo vamos a jugar basquetball

¿Que vas a hacer esta noche? Voy a ir al cine = I am going to the movie theather

To play sports use the verb jugar. *It is a stem changing verb: it changes in some forms like nosotros and vosotros
