No puedo ir a la fiesta. Me duele (it hurts) la cabeza. Estoy demasiado-a enfermo-a. = I am sorry. My head hurts. I am very sick. --¿Puedes ir al cine conmigo esta tarde? = Can you go with me to the movies this afternoon? --Tengo que ir a la lección de piano esta tarde. Después tengo que hacer la tarea de Algebra. Que pena, no puedo ir al cine contigo. = I have to go to the piano lesson this afternoon. Later I have to do a lot of Algebra homework. What a shame, I can not go to the movies with you.

8 Ir + a + Infinitive you use it to say what you are going to do: I am going to play volleyball In Spanish is the same: Voy a jugar vóleibol.

9 Conjugations of verb to go = ir Yo voy, tú vas, él/ella usted va, nosotros/as vamos, ellos/ellas/ Uds. van

10 Activity On tables you are going ask each other what you are going to do this week after school (in English). Who do you usually do this activity with. Ex: El lunes voy a practicar basquetbol con mis amigos.

11 Formula: Ir + a + inifinitive Notes from Realidades book: 1.The Infinitive is the basic form of the verb (hablar=to talk, comer= to eat, leer=to read or any –ar, -er or –ir verbs). It means “to…” in English. 2.When you use ir + a with and infinitive means you or others are going to do something in the future. It is the same as “I am going to…….” in English: voy a comer una hamburguesa esta noche= I am going to eat a hamburguer tonight.

13 Small Journal Create a mini-journal in which you are going to tell what you are going to do ( ir + a + infinitive) each day of the week after school. Include la tarde, la noche. Include details such as with whom you will do activities, where you will go and why you are planning to do them. Use past vocabulary and this Ch4B
