4 Ir is always followed by the word a (to). When a is followed by the word el, it combines to make the word al. a + el = al Ex. Yo voy al baño. I’m going to the bathroom.

7 The verb ir can be used to talk about what you are going to do by using the following construction:

8 ir+a+ infinitive voy vamos vas vais va van an unconjugated verb (still ends in –AR, -ER, -IR)

9 EJEMPLOS 1. I’m going to study for the test. 2. Are you going to answer the teacher? 3. Marta is going to talk on the phone. 4. We’re going to listen to music. 5. The students are going to get good grades. 6. Are y’all going to go to class?
