2 What are they??? Past participles are adjectives that are formed from verbs.

3 How to form most past participles with verbs!
Drop the AR and add –ado El hombre cansado Drop the ER/IR and add –ido El muchacho dormido

4 Remember, Adjectives have to agree with the noun they describe
You can make these participles Masculine or Feminine Singular or Plural El chico cansado – La Chica cansada Los chicos dormidos – las chicas dormidas

5 Práctica La casa _________ (comprar). La flor __________ (vivir).
La casa comprada. La flor __________ (vivir). La flor vivida. Las cartas ___________(recibir). Las cartas recibidas.

6 If the verb is reflexive?
Drop the -se from the infinitive and replace the -ar,-ir,-er ending with either -ido or -ado. Ejemplos: Vestirse Los muchachos están vestidos. Práctica: La chica está _____________ (enamorarse). La chica está enamorada.

7 The found cats (encontrar) The showered girls (ducharse)
The lost girl (perder) La chica perdida The found cats (encontrar) Los gatos encontrados The showered girls (ducharse) Las chicas duchadas

8 You can use these with verbs like estar too
The boys are shaven/shaved (afeitarse) Los chicos están afeitados The potatoes are cooked (cocinar) Las papas están cocinadas The boys are prepared. (preparar) Los chicos están preparados.
