Conjugating –AR Verbs To conjugate a verb means to change the form of the verb.
Subject Pronouns In order to conjugate verbs you must know the subject pronouns because the verb changes according to the subject.
The Subject Pronouns yo tú usted él ella nosotros nosotras ustedes ellos ellas
The Subject Pronouns yo tú usted él ella I you (familiar) you (formal) he she
The Subject Pronouns nosotros nosotras ustedes ellos ellas we (masculine or mixed) we (feminine) you (plural) they (masculine or mixed) they (feminine)
The Infinitive In order to conjugate a verb you must begin with the infinitive. The infinitive is the base form of the verb. It is the form of the verb that can be found in the dictionary. In Spanish infinitives can be easily recognized. They end in –ar, -er, or –ir.
