There are 3 types of verb in Spanish -AR -ER -IR -AR e.g. hablar -ER e.g. leer -IR e.g. vivir

When the verb has the –AR, -ER, -IR ending it is called the INFINITIVE. The infinitive means TO …… Hablar = to speak Leer = to read Vivir = to live

What is the INFINITIVE?

The STEM of the verb

When the verb has the –AR, -ER, -IR ending it is called the INFINITIVE. Hablar = habl_ Leer = le_ Vivir = viv_ When you remove the –AR, -ER, -IR it becomes THE STEM.

What is the imperfect tense? The imperfect tense describes what someone WAS doing or what you USED to do. Examples: I was playing football OR I used to play football
