Por ejemplo Yo soy alta. Yo soy trabajadora. Yo soy de los Estados Unidos. Yo soy mujer. Yo soy maestra.

Por ejemplo Yo estoy feliz. Yo estoy en la escuela.

If you are talking about what something is, use ser. If you are talking about how something is, use estar. Use estar for a condition and ser for the essence of something.
