6 If both verbs mean to be, then how do we know when to use ser and when to use estar???

13 ESTAR - FLETCHA Remember that Estar is associated with temporary! F: Feelings - ¿Cómo estás? How are you? L: Location – Estoy en la clase de español. E: Emotion – Tú estás triste. T / C – Temporary Conditions La sopa está caliente. The soup is hot.

14 ESTAR - FLETCHA H: Health – Yo estoy enferma. I am sick A: Action in Progress – Estamos comiendo. These are part of the present progressive tense. Estar (conjugated) + present participle Present participle – If ar verb add ando If er or ir verb add iendo. If double vowel add yendo (leyendo)

15 Although you use estar when you are talking about a location, you need to use ser when you are talking about the location of an event. (the event can’t move and it permanent)
